It is reported that the 2014 World Robotics and Smart Equipment Industry Conference will be held in Chengdu from December 19th to 22nd. Experts participating in the conference will discuss the routes and trends of future robot development.

According to Yu Dehai, vice president of the International Robotics and Intelligent Equipment Industry Alliance and chairman of Dalian Guangyang Technology Group, intelligent manufacturing and digital factories are the only way for manufacturing in China. Intelligent manufacturing is a large-scale system project, and each unit must be intelligent. At the same time, it is necessary to establish a complete manufacturing technology chain and industrial chain for the intelligent manufacturing industry to help boost China's intelligent manufacturing.

Yu Dehai also stressed that the current intelligent manufacturing lacks key component manufacturers.

The robot and smart equipment industry has been chased by the capital market for a long time and has been widely recognized by the community. However, China’s robot industry is still in its infancy as a whole, and it is still heavily dependent on imports for its core components such as reducers, controllers and servomotors.

In order to achieve smart manufacturing in our country, it is impossible to compete with foreign countries in accordance with the original production methods. The key parts and components must realize independent innovation and achieve streamlined production.
