On September 9, ABB Group announced its next stage strategy in London and Zurich, namely the strategy for 2015-2020. Its main content includes:

    • Focus on profitable organic growth, increase competitiveness and reduce risk
    • Improve performance through leading operating models
    • Carry out a thousand-day change plan
    • Future company and executive committee structure to match new strategy
    • A strong global business category is the core of ABB
    • Peter Terwiesch was appointed as a member of the Executive Committee responsible for process automation
    • Concentrate the market and streamline the regional structure
    • The regional market was reduced from 8 to 3, and the experienced members of the Election Committee were responsible: Frank Duggan was responsible for Asia, the Middle East, and Africa; Schürrger was responsible for the Americas; Minnick was responsible for Europe.
    • Sasol CEO David Constable joins the board of directors
    • Focus on attractive new returns for shareholders
    • Start a $4 billion stock repurchase program

In addition, ABB also announced new financial targets, including setting the average annual revenue growth target between 4% and 7% between 2015 and 2020, which is higher than the projected GDP and market growth rate.The new strategy will take effect on January 1, 2015.
